In a debate and I don’t really know much, but I know I am a liberal. I just haven’t really done enough research to back my opinions. Can someone help with this debate’ I suck soooo much at debating!! And I need help before I screw myself up a tree.

ME: And according to this chart, I’d definitely be left wing….But there must be more to it than that

HER: I just want to know this then…you want more Government control’
ME: If it means better change, yes.
HER: So you don’t think you know best what to do in your own life and for your child’
ME: And as long as the government can come to a consensus on political stances. I don’t think it’s wise to leave the nation to the people as the people rarely come to an equal viewpoint.
HER: You do realize that the entire USA is founded on the belief that the people know best, not the government. Not to mention that governmental control means that they can tell you HOW to raise your own child!
ME: Left-wing is all about change, and who’s to say I like things the way they are now’ My child will have health-care with change. I think change is for the best. And if you keep things the way they are now, they’re still telling you how to raise your own child. You know you have to fill out a form when the government thinks your kid is old enough for school, letting them know you are homeschooling your child’ The way you make it sound is that the government is not involved at all with right-wing policies, when in fact, it’s quite the opposite.
HER:Kelly, I’m not trying to be condescending but you need to read more about what the “right-wing” policies are. Change happens with all government not just the left. If you think its bad right now its because of policies by the left. If you think government healthcare is going to be good, fine, but read about it in Europe and how people have to wait MONTHS to see a doctor. And there is a big difference between filling out a form to TELL the government that you are homeschooling and filling out a form to ASK if you are ALLOWED to homeschool your kids. I am in no way saying that the right is right all the time, but I want less government control not more. I don’t want them TELLING me I can’t carry a gun to protect my kids and that I can’t homeschool if I want to. I don’t want them telling me, “This is your doctor now and we don’t care that you had one before”. I don’t want them telling me how to live and raise my kids because no one knows better how to take care of my own children than me.

Yea, no idea how to debate lol. Can someone help me out’
I am stupid, I’ll be the first to say that. It’s why I can’t debate.
Ok, I did say fellow ‘liberals.’ Why are you conservatives poking your noses in here’
Awesome Dave, thanks a ton. But how do I say that’
I wasn’t trying to enter a debate :( She caught me off guard…I posted this on facebook and had that first statement: http://www.wasatchwatcher.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/Liberal-Beliefs.gif
