Each lesson does start out with similar things, i.e. weather, time, money, counting. It is repetitive for my daughter, so I only do what she hasn’t mastered. For the reviewer that complained about this being a waste of paper, there are variations in some of it, so it is probably best it is there, especially - Math 2: Home Study Kit (Homeschool Math Grade 2)

I have a 5 (almost 6) year old who is set to start school this summer. His father received joint custody about 6 months ago. I want to homeschool my child, but he wants him to be sent to a public school (one that is fairly crappy). I think that our child would thrive better in a homeschooled enviroment (at least for the first year or two). He has been going through major emotional changes with the recent joint custody/split households, and I do not feel public school would be as accomodating as I can be. His emotional problems have been discussed through lawyers and judges– but no one seems to care. The problems have been going on for a while, and I recently had to leave my FT job for a PT job because of it… I need some advice, encouragement, ideas, etc. Most likely his dad will be taking me to court this summer over the schooling issue. I want to have a solid program/curriculum planned to teach him.
If you do not agree to homeschooling, please do not even comment back telling me to send him to a public school– I’ve throughly reasearched all schooling options, interviewed public– private– homeschools… and still feel this is the absolute best environment for him. He is a very emotional child, and I LOVE that about him. Additionally, he is one of the most loving, curteous, polite boys I’ve ever been around. He is exceptionally smart and I know that he would be bored in a public school setting, with very little challenges.
Lastly, in a FINAL attempt to try and get him to see why homeschooled kindergarten would be best for him, we are going to visit the public schools together. I have a list of questions to ask the schools… but, any other ideas’!
